'High specifications wanted' in conservatory roofs

Many customers are now demanding higher quality from the roofs of their conservatories, it has emerged.

Scott Nicholas, managing director of conservatory roof manufacturer Roof-Maker, tells Glass on Web of such a desire among the firm's clients.

"Customers are looking for added value and improved performance," he observes.

Mr Nicholas suggests the company's Reflex glazing modules as a suitable option when attempting to cater for demanding consumers.

With such glass, he tells the website, conservatories may be kept warmer in winter and cooler during the summer months.

Its "reduced condensation and noise reduction" are also among the benefits to be derived, along with structural stability.

Glass conservatory roofs are "the first choice" if the space is to be used throughout the year, according to industry website Fenestration UK.

The resource notes that, for a relatively small increase in price, the "look and feel" of the conservatory may be elevated through the use of a glass roof.
